Since winning the River Oaks Care Center Annual Rib Cook-Off in 2005 for his spare ribs, Mackie Hayes has thought about cooking for a living. In February 2006 he put those thoughts to motion and began his mobile barbecue business. Today, Above Average BBQ and more has grown beyond mobile to a cozy downtown restaurant on 7th street between Lamar and Scott. Come by today and enjoy a full selection of food guaranteed to delight.
